The House Republicans decided to cave to the Democrats and keep the government open for business. They could have stood up for America and passed meaningful border legislation, they could have passed meaningful voter ID laws that aren't needed but the Republicans cry about it all the time - this was their time. No they ran yellow because it is so close to the national elections and they wanted to hedge their bets. Clinging to the golden parachute is all they are really interested in.
